The Art & Nature Center (ANC) showcases original exhibitions that investigate our interconnections with nature through contemporary art, memorable objects, and interactive experiences. Designed for visitors of all ages, the family-friendly center features changing exhibitions, hands-on displays, and art-making spaces.

The ANC is looking for an intern who will work with Learning & Community Engagement staff in the implementation and facilitation of a variety of interactive programs. The ANC encompasses regular drop-in art making activities, exhibition facilitation and maintenance, and opportunities for independent projects. Independent projects can include supporting exhibition evaluation, generating public programming ideas, and exploring future ANC exhibition topics. ANC interns will also assist in a variety of administrative tasks. Ideal for students interested in museum education.

Qualifications: Enrolled undergraduate or graduate student; excellent written/oral communication skills, detail-oriented. A passion for working with children and families. Able to commit to 2+ days per week, flexible within Thursday-Monday, 9am-5pm parameters. Regular weekend and occasional Monday availability preferred.

The Fall Internship Program will run from September 11 to December 15, 2025, or an agreed upon end date with the hiring manager. A mandatory in-person orientation will be held at the museum on Thursday, September 11, 2025, from 10 AM to 4 PM. Interns are also required to participate in professional development sessions, typically held on Thursdays through December 4th. Please note that session times are subject to change, and some sessions may be conducted in a hybrid format.

This internship provides a $2,000 stipend and requires the completion of 180 hours, which includes participation in professional development programming. This equates to approximately 15 onsite hours per week over the course of twelve weeks. All internships are fully in person and take place on site.
